Thailand is two holidays sharing a country. Bangkok is temples, markets and traffic, with a reclining Buddha forty-six metres long lying behind a wall you would otherwise walk past. Two hours down the coast the pace drops to boats, beaches and long lunches. One trip splits the week evenly between them, so neither has to be the compromise.
