Montenegro fits an improbable amount into a country you can cross in three hours. The Bay of Kotor looks like a fjord and is not one, a drowned river canyon with Venetian towns around its edge and a mountain wall behind. Inland, Durmitor has the second deepest canyon in the world and a monastery built into a cliff face. The coast at Budva has the beaches and the old stone streets.
