  1. Day 1

    Nairobi and the Giraffe Centre

    Land at 13:20, then straight to the Giraffe Centre to feed the endangered Rothschild's giraffes from the raised platform. Check in at the Nairobi hotel afterwards.

  2. Day 2

    The Rift Valley and into the Mara

    West out of Nairobi, with a viewpoint stop over the Great Rift Valley, reaching the lodge by lunch. The first game drive goes out in the afternoon and runs into the sunset.

  3. Day 3

    A full day in the Masai Mara

    Out after breakfast with a picnic lunch, the whole day in the reserve. This is the day the Big Five are realistic: lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino, with cheetah, hippo and crocodile besides.

  4. Day 4

    Mara to Lake Naivasha

    North to the lake, arriving for lunch, then a boat ride among the hippos, fish eagles, pelicans and kingfishers. Dinner and the last night at the lodge.

    Naivasha to Nairobi, and home

    An early breakfast and a 07:00 checkout to reach Jomo Kenyatta comfortably before the 14:10 flight.

How does booking actually work?

Every package here is a starting point rather than a fixed product. Most trips we run end up differing from the page in at least one leg.

Is this suitable for older travellers or young children?

Yes, and the pace is built around who is coming. Tell us ages and mobility at the enquiry stage and the routing changes accordingly.

What if something goes wrong while we are away?
