    Overnight to Tokyo

    Out of Dubai in the evening, connecting through Doha, and into Tokyo at the end of the following day. Straight to the hotel.

    Tokyo, old and new

    Odaiba and the bay, the Imperial Palace, Asakusa and the Sensoji temple with the Nakamise arcade leading up to it, then the Skytree observation deck 350 metres up.

  3. Day 3

    Shrines, crossings and teamLab

    Meiji Jingu in its forest, the Shibuya scramble and the Hachiko statue beside it, and teamLab Toyosu, which is a museum you walk through rather than look at.

  4. Day 4

    Mount Fuji and Hakone

    West to the fifth station on Fuji itself, the spring ponds at Oshino Hakkai, then the Hakone ropeway over the steam at Owakudani and a cruise across Lake Ashi. Night in Shizuoka.

  5. Day 5

    The bullet train to Hiroshima

    Shinkansen west, then the ferry to Miyajima for the shrine gate standing in the water, and the Peace Memorial Museum in the city.

  6. Day 6

    Kurashiki and Kobe

    The white-walled warehouses along the canal at Kurashiki, then Kobe: Meriken Park, the port tower and the harbour at dusk.

  7. Day 7

    Kyoto and Nara

    The bamboo grove at Arashiyama, the golden pavilion at Kinkakuji, the tunnel of red gates at Fushimi Inari, then Nara for Todai-ji and its deer. Osaka in the evening for Dotonbori.

    Osaka, then home

    Osaka Castle and a last run at Shinsaibashi and Umeda before the late flight back to Dubai.

Every package here is a starting point rather than a fixed product. Most trips we run end up differing from the page in at least one leg.

Is this suitable for older travellers or young children?

Yes, and the pace is built around who is coming. Tell us ages and mobility at the enquiry stage and the routing changes accordingly.

What if something goes wrong while we are away?
