  1. Day 1

    Arrival, and nothing much

    Land at Denpasar in the early afternoon, met and driven to the hotel. The rest of the day is deliberately empty after an overnight flight.

  2. Day 2

    The water at Benoa

    A morning of watersports on the coast at Tanjung Benoa, banana boat, parasailing or jet ski depending on the day, then lunch and an afternoon left open.

  3. Day 3

    Nusa Penida, all day

    By boat to the island off the southeast coast: Kelingking with its cliff shaped like a dinosaur's back, Broken Beach, Angel's Billabong and Crystal Bay. Rough roads and a lot of walking, so wear proper shoes.

  4. Day 4

    Up to the volcano

    Inland and uphill through rice fields and villages to Kintamani, for the view across Mount Batur and its lake, and air ten degrees cooler than the coast.

  5. Day 5

    Highlands, a beach and a cliff temple

    Bedugul in the green interior, then south for Padang Padang beach and Uluwatu Temple on its cliff above the Indian Ocean, timed for sunset before the late flight home.

    Arrival in Sharjah

    Overnight through Kuala Lumpur, landing in Sharjah in the early morning.
